Japanese Dee from New York
Japanese Dee aka “BIG IN JAPAN” was born and raised in Japan and grew up listing to Hip Hop. He started his DJ career in Tokyo as he was inspired to become a DJ by “Q” who’s character was a DJ in the classic hip hop film “JUICE”. In 2004 he took the big leap and moved to NYC to pursue a career as a DJ in the City that Never Sleeps & feel deep in love with Hip Hop.
He is a well-known DJ in NYC nightlife and has 15 years of experience. What makes him so special is his knowledge of music, his ability to read the crowd and keep the dance floor always moving with his eclectic mixes. He plays music that ranges from current hits to Classics, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Rock, House, Electronic and Disco. JAPANESE DEE rocks the party every time he spins. Don’t be surprised when you suddenly find yourself dancing. You can catch him on any given night making crowds dance at one of his residencies at the legendary night club GREEN HOUSE or he can be seen having people moving at the W Hotel.
When he is not performing, he spends his time in the studio creating remixes & own music. His remixes have been played on major New York radio stations like Hot 97 & Power 105. He has been featured on Eminem’s Sirius Radio channel Shade 45 where is a regular on DJ Whookid’s “Whoolywood” show on the channel.
2002年に渡米、DJ Soulのレコ持ちとしてNYでのDJキャリアをスタート。
実力が認められDJ CamiloのクルーStrictly Live、”Remix King”
TedSmoothのクルーTeam Straightfaceに所属。
RihannaのアルバムリリースパーティーやDrakeのパーティーもこなす、NYCの一線で活躍するDJ。
現在リスナー数800万人を誇るインターネットラジオShade45のDJ Whookidのショー、Whoolywood ShuffleでCo Hostを務めている。(毎週土日 東海岸時間12pm – 6pm 放送)
